Marie-Therese Wisniowski Marie-Therese Wisniowski works full time as a studio artist, researcher, tutor and is the Director of Art Quill Studio. She is from New south wales, Australia. Marie specialises in the area of ArtCloth, artist printmaker books and limited edition prints. She has created signature techniques that she has named “Matrix Formatting” “Multiplexing” and “Low Relief Screen Printing (LRSP) in her silk screened works and “MultiSperse Dye Sublimation” (MSDS) in her ArtCloth works using disperse dyes on synthetic fibres. I am very interested in this type of art. The skill of dye transfer on fabric and using natural objects for mark making has a very effective outcome. This is an area I would love to explore more. The colours Marie has used work harmoniously together in each piece and due to some of the objects being raised and not flat a beautiful glow appears around the stem and leaves, this gives a lovely dimension to the piece.

A little bit about Judy Scott Judy is a printed textile designer based in Dundee. Scotland harbour villages and shores have been her constant inspiration. Their bustling waterfronts are filled with incredible colour combinations, organic shape, surface and form.  Blending traditional techniques with digital imagery her work begins by capturing inspiration as a composition using photography.  This is then translated into painted paper collage and expressive mark making, leading to bold placement compositions. I found Judy’s work to be very inspiring especially when looking at decay. I loved her use of different textures as part of a collage and how she sews into it to add detail. I have referred to some of her wok when creating my own decay collage. Her use of negative space as a border draws your eye to the details and the washed blue colour adds a beautiful cool tone to the piece, I use quink ink to do something similar in my own work. Having never really done 3d d

Dan Flavin Dan Flavin was an American minimalist artist famous for creating sculptural objects and installations from commercially available fluorescent light fixtures. I find his work extremely distinctive, with his use of fluorescent light tubes and negative space it creates an extremely striking sculpture. The way he chooses to use his space such as the corner, the bottom of a narrow room or just on the wall with empty space makes every piece have a different effect.   I have been very inspired by is use of colour, the warm and cool tones give different vibes for each piece which makes each individual one interesting. The glow from the tubes gives dimension and the illusion of warmth. Flavin once said: ‘Everything is clearly, openly, plainly delivered. I love this description as it shows not everything has to be complex and chaotic, I think the simplicity is easy on the eye.   He uses pattern in some pieces such as the bottom right with the squares, the repetit
